"Why," you ask? Because we want profile pages to have freedom of customization, but also to have some consistency. This way, when anyone visits a deviant, they know they can always find the art in the top left, and personal info in the top right.

I don't really see anything wrong with tracing, as long as you say you've traced the drawing and give credit to the original artist. If AG didn't do that, then he deserves the ban.

ya know, i personally am very offended by the responses this is getting. i respect the comment i am replying to because i would like to make a similar statement.
To be honest i am completely unaware of what this guy did or why he was actually banned, so i must let you know that what i am about to say is only based on an assumption of the grounds of banning, and is to be takin as a hypothetical arguement.
Tracing is in fact extremely dishonest. Then again, tracing is an excellent learning tool. Now if the people i see posting cruel things here really care about this guys integrity they probably wouldnt be posting. Now from what i saw, this guy is simply a kid trying to expand his skills, not get credit and attention for work he's completed. incase you guys didnt know, it is my belief that this kid attends an art school, so this guys is maybe trying to learn and develope and needs advice on these works more than punishment.
On the otherhand, if this guy was in fact a fraud, trying to claim kudos for unoriginal work, then completely ignore everything i just said, and may he learn that fraud is illegal and not respectable.

I think your comment was a tad too polite, and kind of superficial in some senses... But, I do agree with the point you made. I've traced some things to develope my skills too, and it helps. I don't have traced work in my gallery here though, I think its a bit unprofessional.
